So my reading is that Presidents are encouraged not to use email because official correspondence as President becomes part of the public record. But this applies to CEOs, too - see Ballmer, Gates and the Microsoft emails. So what's the problem?

"Heroes has been something of a poster child for the heavily-hyped convergence culture meme of transmedia storytelling (e.g. Henry Jenkins, Fast Company, Wonderland, etc. etc.), also known as "It's more than just a TV show — it's a comic! If transmedia storytelling has an "old wine, new bottle" ring to it, the main difference from yesteryear's multimedia adaptations, spin-offs and tie-ins seems to be continuity — that ideally, the pieces all weave together to make a coherent narrative whole. Collect them all!" - misses the point. Heroes' story just hasn't been good enough lately, and the comments bear this out.

Interesting because it comes at the "problem" ARGs "solve" from the other direction - engaging, interesting marketing campaigns make journalism interesting, but are often (only?) used for, well, marketing. What if they were used for journalism?
